Welcome to episode #186 of the Own Your Best Life Podcast. We all have these moments when we realize that life was meant to be lived, truly lived. The life around us is created every time we are inspired to action and we find that without that level of deep emotion and action, our life as we know it wouldn’t be the same. This is the gift of staying present and awake. Every day, we have the opportunity to find and draw inspiration from the world around us. It is the creative force of our lives and it is why we need to move with inspiration.

I wanted to share this story with you of how I was thinking about all of the work I was doing one day as I was walking down the street. It just hit me as I looked down that with coaching, training, leadership development and also being a parent, human, partner and daughter that I really have an incredible life. That as much as I work and do and parent and effort – there are incredible rewards for all of it and that is why I continue to step out and try. There are so many moments when we feel stuck and if we could come back to the moments of pure clarity and belief that what we’re doing is worth it and why, then we would be unstoppable.

I wasn’t doing anything out of the ordinary but I was. To someone on the outside, I was just walking down the street. To me, there were mental explosions of serotonin, dopamine, and joy. What happens when we get inspired is that we have incredible focus and energy for the things going on around us and within us. I do not doubt that my level of growth has come from the level of inspiration that has occurred within me.

You can find inspiration in so many different places. From movies where you just feel down to your bones that they’re expressing a story or situation that feels so true that it’s written for you to see in that moment – or to the stories you hear from the people around you about how they overcame or are working through some pretty tough things. It creates perspective, it creates energy and from that energy, we must move with it.

I’ve talked about the power of choice. What happens when we make choices and how if we want to know what our life will be like in a year or 5 years from now, it will be easily defined by the choices we make today. We can decide today to move with our inspiration – when you find a method, technique, person or thought that just gives you that thrill of energy that feels like a yes in your body – and you’ll find that your life will grow to the places where you can imagine. 

I remember how one part of my brain can hold fear and another can hold joy and inspiration to remind myself that we don’t have to become irrational, thoughtless and rash. We can become movers and shakers. We can take the energy of what is within us and create business, money, relationships and the quality of life we want to see. Can you imagine how much more energetic you would feel if you were consistently inspired? That is one of the not-so-secret secrets to my growth. I am easily inspired. 

Let this be easy. Let joy and inspiration flow to you effortlessly. Say to yourself that I’m available for inspiration, show me what you’ve got Universe – and just start to witness how people start to show up differently for you and how you start to feel like you suddenly have capacity again to say yes to more things. That’s the message I want to share with you. If you find something that inspires with you, move with it. Make a decision to follow it and see that it is guiding you towards decisions and actions that are aligned with the kinds of people, places and experiences you want to have in life. Inspiration will lead to more inspiration so travel, expand your horizons and be endlessly inspired by life.
