Welcome to Episode #232 of the Own Your Best Life Podcast
If you’re in a season where everything feels full — your calendar, your to-do list, your mind — you’re not alone.
Between end-of-summer travel, back-to-school routines, work meetings, and family obligations, it can feel like time is something you’re constantly chasing but never catching.
And yet, there’s a quiet pull that says: “Something needs to shift.”
More space.
More clarity.
More time to think and lead — not just manage and survive.
This isn’t just about being more efficient. It’s about building a life where you can grow, lead, and evolve without burning out.
So today, I’m sharing a 3-step framework I use with my coaching clients to help them create more time — even in the busiest seasons of their lives.
Because you don’t need to do more.
You need to create differently.
Why Time Feels Scarce — Even When You’re “Doing Everything Right”
One of the most common questions I get is, “How do you manage everything you do?”
The honest answer is: I don’t.
I’ve learned how to eliminate the nonessential, automate the repetitive, and delegate the rest.
Most high-achieving women are not short on discipline or ambition. But they’re often overcommitted and stretched thin, saying yes to things they no longer want — or need — to carry.
What’s missing isn’t motivation.
What’s missing is margin.
Room to breathe.
Room to think strategically instead of reacting constantly.
When you create time, you create options.
And when you have options, you reclaim control over how you live and lead.
The Real Cost of Overwhelm
We wait for life to slow down before we make changes.
But that day rarely comes.
And so, we stay in survival mode, handling the next crisis and hoping we’ll catch our breath later.
But the longer we wait, the more the cost builds up.
Overwhelm becomes burnout.
Responsibility becomes resentment.
And even when life looks “successful” from the outside, it doesn’t feel that way inside.
Creating more time is not just a productivity goal.
It’s a leadership move.
It’s what allows you to expand — personally, professionally, and energetically — without losing yourself in the process.
The 3-Step Framework to Create More Time (Without Losing Momentum)
This framework is what I teach inside the Spiritual Achiever Coaching program. It’s simple, but it’s powerful when applied consistently. The goal isn’t to strip your life down — it’s to focus your time where it has the greatest impact.
1. Eliminate
Start with clarity.
What are you doing right now that no longer reflects your values, goals, or energy?
We often carry responsibilities we’ve outgrown — out of guilt, habit, or fear of letting others down. But continuing to say yes to everything is what keeps you stuck.
Eliminating isn’t about being ruthless. It’s about being honest.
Ask yourself:
- If I say yes to this, what am I saying no to?
- Is this helping me move forward, or just keeping me busy?
- Would I choose this again today?
Every “no” you say creates space for a more aligned “yes.”
2. Automate
Automation is one of the most underused tools for creating time.
This might look like:
- Creating email templates for recurring replies
- Setting up calendar blocks for focused work
- Using subscriptions or systems to reduce decision fatigue
- Organizing workflows so you don’t reinvent the wheel every time
Yes, automation takes time to set up. But it saves you countless hours in the long run.
It frees your mind from managing details, so you can stay focused on strategy, creativity, and leadership — the things only you can do.
3. Delegate
Delegation isn’t just for executives with teams.
It’s for anyone ready to stop doing everything themselves.
Delegating well means letting go of the idea that your value comes from doing it all. It’s about recognizing where your time is best spent — and trusting others to grow by taking on more responsibility.
Yes, people will make mistakes.
Yes, it might take time to train someone.
But the long-term payoff is more freedom, stronger teams, and a greater sense of leadership.
If you’re doing work that someone else could do 80% as well, it’s time to delegate. Use that time to focus on the work that requires your insight, decision-making, and vision.
Why This Works — Even With a Full Calendar
This isn’t just theory.
It’s a system I’ve used in my own life while building my career, raising a family, and coaching high-level leaders.
It works because it’s based on aligned decision-making, not just productivity hacks.
It allows you to grow without sacrificing your health, relationships, or creativity.
And it works whether you’re a corporate leader, entrepreneur, parent, or all three.
You don’t have to be less ambitious to feel more grounded.
You just need a new way of working with your time.
Final Thoughts: Your Life Doesn’t Have to Feel Like a Treadmill
If you’ve been telling yourself, “I just need to get through this,” take a moment and ask: How long have I been saying that?
Creating more time starts with a decision. A decision to stop waiting for life to slow down, and instead build a system that works for you.
You can lead. You can grow. You can build a meaningful life.
But it starts with space.
And space doesn’t appear on its own — it’s created with intention.
